Commuter Express buses at layover zone, downtown Los Angeles
Two Commuter Express buses are at a layover zone in front of the Edward Roybal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles. Both buses were built in 1992.
The front bus is a rarity. It was one of 20 built by Stewart & Stevenson, and only LADOT has these buses.
The bus behind it is a Neoplan three-axle suburban.
LADOT is operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation. These buses run during rush hours only from the suburbs to downtown in the morning, and back out in the afternoon.
A blank Metro bus stop sign marks this as a layover stop.
The concrete barriers have been in place since the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
