Summer Sky

This all-sky fisheye view captures the night sky as seen from a dark sky location in mid-northern latitudes during the summer. High in the sky, the brilliant stars Atair (Alpha Aquilae), Wega (Alpha Lyrae) and Deneb (Alpha Cygni) form the summer triangle. The Milky Way stretches high across the sky, from Sagittarius in the southwest (lower right) trough Scutum, Aquila, Cygnus, Cepheus, Cassiopeia to Perseus in the northeast (upper left).

Stack of six frames, each of 60 seconds exposure time, taken with Canon EOS 550D, ISO 3200, 4.5mm fisheye, f/4.0. Tracked with the Vixen Polarie star tracker.
