Motomiya Chemical Plant

Factory in North Korea where POW's were employed in slave labour producing carbide.

Photos from my Grandad's records, of his time as a Japanese POW in North Korea during the second world war.

The camp is the Konan POW camp in Hungnam, North Korea. Prisoners were taken to this camp after the fall of Singapore.

I am trying to find out information on what happened to my grandad during this time, his name is Sidney George Stannard, he was from Southwold in Suffolk, England. He was born on 20th April 1911 and his wife was called Lily. If anybody out there knows who the others in these photos are, or

has informtion or records about this POW camp, please please contact me.
