The shiny NSWGR Coat of Arms on 4520 reflects the No #2 end of 4490 at Melbourne's South Dynon Locomotive Depot

The NSW Rail Transport Museum ran their beautifully restored 4520 and 4490 ALCo Diesel Locomotives and Southern Aurora set to Melbourne for their annual 'Melbourne Cup Aurora'. The train in Victoria operated to Gheringhap in the states West before then returning to Benalla to stable overnight. The next day it ran back to Melbourne to drop passengers off to the "Race That Stops The Nation" on the Tuesday. After the event, the train that afternoon departed Melbourne and returned to Sydney overnight.
