Turkey also participated in exercise "Bold Avenger 09" and had five Block-40 F-16s deployed from 6nci AJÜ / 162nd FILO at Bandirma Air Base in western Turkey.
90-0009 shown here has spet its entire career in the 162nd FILO and is an example build by the Turkish Aircraft Industries TUSAS in Ankara and delivered to the Turkish Air Force on Sep. 30th 1991 under the "Peace Onyx I" order.
The Block-40 Vipers in 162nd FILO ( and 182nd FILO at Diyarbakir ) do not have the WAR-HUD and do not carry the LANTIRN system.
The only two fully WAR-HUD and LANTIRN equipped Block-40 units in the Turkish Air Force are 161st FILO and 181st FILO.
All "Peace Onyx I" Vipers - Block-30s as well as Block-40s - are equipped with the Loral ALQ-178(V)5 Rapport III ECM system with antennas located in the parachute faring above the engine exhaust, in the navigation light cannisters on the side of the air inlet and in another antenna just below the air inlet.
