Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
I took this with my 4x5 pinhole, using Fuji Velvia 100 film. I spent some time deciding how to photograph this church. I first saw it from the freeway, about a block way from the feeder. I saw them frame it with iron and then finish it off as I drove to work and back over about a year or two. Time escapes me. I photographed it with my iPhone first to see if it would play like I wanted it to. As I studied the image from my phone, I decided that I needed something. On the day of the shoot, I decided to bring my brother with me as a prop. I told him to bring that big hat I bought him. I admired the structure, so I wanted to show this admiration in the image. My brother was very cooperative and humored his little brother. I was very pleased with the results. I need to make a giclee print and present it to the head of this church.
This is by far my best pinhole camera as I feel it produces the sharpest images. Well, as sharp as any pinhole camera can produce.
