Fisher Towers - Moab

The Fisher Towers located about 20 miles northeast of Moab in southeastern Utah, is one of the most scenic landscapes along the Colorado River.

Administered by the Bureau of Land Management, Fisher Towers Recreation Site is a popular destination for hikers and rock climbers. A moderate 2.2-mile (one way) hiking trail takes you along the base of the towers and spires to a scenic overlook of Professor Valley and the Colorado River.

The Colorado river was streaming fast and did not give me the nice reflection I was hoping for. The solution was using a long exposure to smoothen out the water and making it more colourful than it already was.

Taken during sunset, the deep red of the rocks is contrasting the blue sky and the snowy peaks of the La Sal Mountains in the background.

Image is part of the south-west tour.
