The farmer's market had some beauties yesterday. I am so happy just to eat them on thinly-sliced and toasted bread with homemade mayo, salt, and pepper.

We grew the cherry tomatoes. For some reason, they're still blight-free.

      Such a pretty tomato tower!
Our cherries are blight-free, too. I think, because they're closer to "wild" they have more natural resistance to disease.

once I start eating tomatoes like that I really can't stop. I can (easily) take care of a loaf of bread and a few big tomatoes and eat nothing else all day!

Just stumbled across this photo (it's mid-winter) and I haven't seen a sun-ripened tomato in months. These beauties are positively luscious! Makes me think of eating 'mater sandwiches barefoot in the kitchen with my husband in the summertime. Thank you.
