Mittens was barely 8 months old and heavily pregnant when she was brought in to the rescue centre. She gave birth to 6 kittens, but very sadly they arrived just before an outbreak of cat flu hit the cattery. Despite all of the staff's best efforts - including taking the kittens home at night to monitor them - all of the kittens died. They were less than two weeks old and didn't have the reserves to fight the flu. Mittens herself also caught it, but she's been nursed through and is now fine. She had her first innoculation yesterday and will be ready for rehoming after she's been spayed. The staff were very sad to lose the kittens, but Mittens doesn't seem to be distressed, which is good. She's a pretty girl and very affectionate. She'll find a new home in no time.
