Louisa Terrace - A.1873.D - 71 Drummond Street Carlton Victoria AU

In 1880 Louisa Terrace was a Boarding House, ".....our house is opposite the church near the Vic Parade end of Drummond St, is owned and tenanted by Mrs Everett...."

This extract is from a letter written by John to Polly on the 18 August 1880 from the address of Lousia Terrace, Dummond Street. See: www.flickr.com/photos/helefran/6850800733/

It began:

"My Dear Polly,

As all my fellow lodgers have all done out I think this is fine opportunity to write you a few lines....

and the letter continued

......(I have heard of boarding house pens but have never tested their quality before, here goes for another)...."

In the 1970s Louisa Terrace was a restaurant.

On the 10 May 2010 a Planning Application was lodged for the redevelopment of existing buildings, refurbishment works and basement level. Today it is the business premises for a firm of Building Contractors.

....what stories the walls could tell!!
