Grandpa's camera

Newer Older

Project 52, week 30
This weeks prompt "Vintage".

This camera belonged to my grandfather. He was a very avid photographer, so now I can look at photos of my father when he was a child and see what his chilhood was like. Unfortunately he died when my father was only fifteen, so I've never met him. Someday I will try if this camera still works :)

This week I learned how hard it is to take a picture of a camera. It is a big black blob and nothing made it look very interesting :)

Have a great weekend!

I have a camera similar to this, a Kodak 2C Autographic, produced in 1916. Yesterday I shot from many different angles and didn't like anything I did. After seeing yours, I'm glad I chose not to post mine. This is fantastic!

Oih mikä aarre. Todella kauniit sävyt.
Kiitos terveisistä. Kivaa löytää suomalaisia ja naisia näin läheltä.

Looking at this shot you would never have guessed that you had trouble taking it, you have executed this really well. You should defiently have a play with it, I would love to see some shots taken with this.

This is beautiful, Heli! The super-sharp macro details at the front of the lens are amazing and so is that wonderful DOF. Lovely tones as well. I think you did a marvelous job of capturing your grandpa's camera - the result is so interesting to my eyes. I hope you'll give it a try and share what you get! :)

You did an amazing job capturing the antique qualities (no black blob look here!) of this very special collector's item! I hope you can get it to work, it would be so interesting to see the results.
