One of the most tragic, most powerful single photos on Flickr. Say prayers to any God, to all spiritual beings, this is so wrong, but so needed to show. Thank you, with prayers.

    Dear sir or madam,

I am a member of ECI, a French not-for-profit organization formed by several Demobilization- Disarmament-Reintegration (DDR) specialists. They are experts in the field of post-crisis situation and conflict resolution and peacekeeping especially in Africa. ECI members are all strongly committed to conflict prevention and peacekeeping activities through holistic solutions guaranteeing a sustainable development.

I am writing to ask for your permission to use the photo above to illustrate one of our articles on the subject of child soldiers. We would be very grateful, if you would be willing to give us the permission to use this picture.

Within ECI, we strive to educate the public to the cause of child soldiers with the limited resources we have at our disposal. On behalf of all members of ECI, who are very committed to the cause of child soldiers, we would like to ask for your help.

Like I said, we are looking for pictures of child soldiers to illustrate our articles on our website ( as well as our brochures, banners and videos. We will, of course, include any credit or copyright notice that you require. We can also post links to your homepage, interviews and articles, if you'd like.

As previously stated, we would greatly appreciate your permission to use your picture.

I want to thank you for your time reading this letter and for your consideration of my request. I look forward to hearing back from you.
