HCC BASEBALL COMMUNITY NIGHT 2012:
HCC HAWKS VS. POLK STATE EAGLES AT STEINBRENNER FIELD

Tampa, FL—Hillsborough Community College Baseball will host its Second Annual Community Baseball Night at Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. The HCC Hawks will take on the Polk State Eagles with first pitch at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
HCC invites the Tampa Bay community to experience Hawk baseball at the New York Yankees Spring Training Complex, One Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa, FL 33614.

Coach Gary Calhoun is excited about the opportunity for the college’s athletes to experience the excitement of play on a professional field. "We are thrilled to be playing at Steinbrenner; it's an experience for everyone, and we hope that the community will come and show their support of our team.”

HCC’s baseball team is on the verge of breaking into the state’s top ten. Leading hitters are #4 Josciel A. Veras (370 average and .488 on base percentage) and #29 Robert Merrell (350 average). Leading RBIs is #23 Brady North (31 games/101 at bat/29 RBIs).

Students, staff, alumni, and friends are encouraged to wear their Hawk colors to show their school spirit and support.
HCC baseball is part of the Florida College System Activities Association (FCCAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
