So the degree show installation is done! Now I have two weeks to write my masters' statement, then move out of studio, then work on a project for Ferndale while doing a residency with Yuji. The fun never ends.
This was the second test Yuji and I did for our degree show piece. Its 100psi polyethylene tubing (used in building for drinking water and irrigation, a PVC alternative) wrapped into a cubic form held together with zip-ties. This version is made of about 1300' of tubing, and as about 11' cubic. The final piece in the museum right now uses 2300', and is a more blobular/bean shape with a larger entrance and slightly more dense. It also has a colorful soft tubular flooring for visitors to relax and hang out.
Sorry I haven't uploaded photos in several months. I'm looking forward to some time to organize and update my photos and blogs in May.
