Distribution:- Migrates to Europe April to Oct and winters in Africa.

 

Habitat:- Heathland , woodland and farmland.

 

Breeding:- Hobbies nests are much larger than many birds of prey, normally early summer in abandoned bird nests, cavities in trees or on cliff edges or faces. Normally lay 4-5 white eggs, incubation is 28-35 days.

 

Prey:- The hobbies diet varies from insects and dragonflies, small rodents and small birds including martins, swallows and swifts.

 

Weight 130-340 g (4 -12 ozs)
