Pietzmoor (explored)

The Pietzmoor, named after the east of the moor farm Pietz is the largest contiguous moor in the Lueneburg Heath. The bog is located southeast of the city Schneverdingen on the southern edge of the nature reserve Lueneburg Heath. The Pietzmoor has an average Torftiefe of 4 m, the maximum thickness is 7.5 m.

In the marsh is the headwaters of the Bohemian and the hedonist. It represents a watershed between the Aller in the east and the west Wümme, because it has the Bohemian to the All and the hedonist to Wümme - and finally over all and in the Weser Wümme - drained
