We Love Black & White! - Infrared Van Dusen Garden X1157e

At the birth of photography, we have only black and white pictures. This is the most typical example of what we describe photography as “what you see is NOT what you get”.

You do not see the world in black and white with naked eyes. However we love B&W tones and many fine art photographers focus on B&W compositions only.

Infrared is the light spectrum invisible to human eyes and this is another example of "what you see is NOT what you get". The infrared B&W tones are more dramatic than normal B&W tones in many ways. I love it.

It is not easy to create a dynamic and yet balanced composition in colour. I believe it is even more difficult to create a great composition with the different shades of gray. I want to learn the art and I hope one day I can make a good B&W composition.

This is infrared scene taken at Van Dusen Garden sometime ago.

Have a great Tuesday!

Fuji X10 attached with Hoya R72 filter. ISO 100 F6.4 and 3.5 seconds exposure.
