Youth is complicated. They believe that no adult can understand them.
This is the girl working at the booth for promotion of some soccer camps at the Italian Day on Commercial Drive last Sunday. And she reminds me about this.
When I was in the teens, I like reading philosophy such as young Marx (the Paris Manuscripts), Sartre and Nietzsche etc. And I always thought no adult could understand me. The definition of adults are people who are older than 18!
After a few decades, now I am simple and not complicated anymore. I love photography and that is it!!
Candid photography is interesting. You shoot some strangers and they can offer something that you cannot have while shooting people you know already.
Do you think so?
Have a great Thursday!
I read the words of Karsh today. Do let me know if this is the longest quote on photography on Flickr you have seen so far? :o)
”Within every man and woman a secret is hidden, and as a photographer it is my task to reveal it if I can. The revelation, if it comes at all, will come in a small fraction of a second with an unconscious gesture, a gleam of the eye, a brief lifting of the mask that all humans wear to conceal their innermost selves from the world. In that fleeting interval of opportunity the photographer must act or lose his prize.” – Yousuf Karsh
