Candid or Posed? (Candid Portrait of a Fall Leaf) - Van Dusen Garden Vancouver N5152e

Would you shoot fall colour as your next theme or photo project this year?

This is just repost of an archive picture in 2010.

This is an old picture I have posted in 2010. I called it candid shot because I did not pose the leaf. My attitude with nature photography is staying the same after these years and I think nothing should be changed in the scene when you take the picture. My resistance to heavy editing and digital darkroom techniques was also coming from that.

I always doubt that the creativity in editing will end up with something that you have never seen in the original scene. And this is no longer falling under the definition of nature photography or straight photography?

What do you think?

The following is the story of my original post in 2010.

This is candid. I did not ask her to pose or put her there.

I saw her standing under the tree. She is shy with her face little pink and red.

She is probably still in the reminiscences of the sweet memories from last summer.

Shot taken at Van Dusen Garden Vancouver.
