My apologies for abandoning my flickr friends and disappearing for a while. I have been preoccupied with a number of things which include a new website that I've been working on. I felt it was about time for me to get a more official website, so I looked into possible options and stupidly enough, I decided to build it myself. I don't think I ever really mentioned in any of my descriptions(maybe I did), but I am an engineer by training, and it was a tad embarrassing to let anybody else do the web-coding for me when all I ever do in my research is coding. So I decided to give it a shot, and to my surprise, it turned out to be much harder than I thought. With no background in Java, html and css, it was bound to be an epic fail. When spending quite a bit of money on all the photo gear, it would have been much easier to just hire someone for this, but I knew that I needed to know at least a little bit to update and manage the website the way I wanted. In the course of building the homepage, I also unintentionally got in touch with Jesse Estes, who is one of my contacts / a hell of a photographer, because I almost stole his html files and uploaded them on my server, LOL. Well, what actually happened is, I really liked Jesse's website and tried to look at the source files to understand the coding and figure out what kinds of plug-ins were used. However, at least for a few hours, it must have looked like I was ripping off Jesse's website and I am sure that it flipped him out. Again, my apologies, Jesse. ;-)
So with no further ado, here is my 50%-complete website, where you can see my cheesy bio and 2010 portfolio. : )
Spring has come in California, which means no more fancy sunsets and sunrises. So in the meantime I tried to explore some mountains in the bay-area and I am pleasantly surprised by the great views, small but beautiful lakes and amazing waterfalls, which will be my new subjects for a while.
