Frosty Morning - Michigan

On our recent trip, we were in Michigan's Lower Peninsula -- mostly along the Lake Michigan shore -- the week of September 28. As noted in captions to some other trip photos, we had a good bit of rain; we also had quite cool weather, with daytime highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. The morning of October 1, we found ice in the birdbath outside our room in Ludington, and a heavy coat of frost on plants and cars. This picture and the one below were taken about 9 in the morning, after breakfast was over; as the water drops on the car window (below) and the trim above it show, melting was underway -- still, there was a good bit of frost left. After several decades of living in Virginia (Richmond area), we're not used to such weather at the start of October. (Canon 70-200L for shot above, 24-105L for one below)
