the newest generation of happibugs … "dream girls"... works in progress ...
I've been working on this new series since late February. Wisp, above, is the prototype, and these new girls have make-up and decorations that combine the elements of a dream world - unexpected patterns, half-remembered phrases that inspire you and change your perspective.
Each girl in the series has one-of-a-kind illustrations from a mysterious place where dimensions merge, and time has no boundaries. Yesterday is today, and tomorrow is filled with unlimited possibilities.
I will have three new girls from this series at Blythecon U.S. in August, and will be making more in the fall. "Whisper" is one of the in-progress girls shown here, and she'll have a short bob like Wisp. Her sister, "Wish", will have a shoulder-length, very layered cut. All of the girls have subtle, monochromatic make-up (airbrushed), and a very subtle, slightly moody lip shape.
Each girl has her name and a fragment of a phrase inscribed on the back of her head. Each girl will be signed and dated by me. Illustrations from a dream world travel down the side of her face and onto the back of her head … and the beauty of it is that these secret artworks hide under her hair … so, like a wonderful secret it can be kept for yourself or shown to the world.
Thank you for looking!
