The national government is now in charge of the evacuation. Roads are closed and the army is checking homes for people who stayed behind, they are also guarding the affected areas to prevent looting.
The national telecommunications company: PTT-Telecom has advised not to make telephone calls to the endangered area's, unless absolutely necessary, in order to prevent overloadeded telephone networks. An extra communications network between the crisis centers has been set up.
