Affliction

A woman walks through a Void (designed by Daniel Libeskind) with an art installation Shalechet (Fallen Leaves) by an Israeli artist Menashe Kadishman.Over 10,000 open mouthed faces coarsely cut from heavy circular iron plates cover the floor, these serve as an architectural expression of the jews killed in the holocaust.

The Museum's Voids refer to "that which can never be exhibited when it comes to Jewish Berlin history: Humanity reduced to ashes." (Daniel Libeskind, 2000)
