Sunrise in Sikkim
Pelling, Sikkim, India.
I am trying new software - Aurora HDR - made by a San Diego based company - Macphun Software. I have used a number of different software programs to post-process this image and I can't find one that does justice to what I saw that morning in the Himalayas. I wish I had a modern full-frame DSLR and a better lens when I took it this photo in 2008. In eight years the digital technology make a giant leap forward.
Anyway, this is the third highest peak in the world after Mount Everest and K2. It's called Kangchenjunga (Nepali: कञ्चनजङ्घा; Hindi: कंचनजंघा; Sikkimese: ཁང་ཅེན་ཛོཾག་), sometimes spelled Kanchenjunga or Khangchendzonga. The mountain is situated on the border of Sikkim, India, and Nepal and is 8,586 m (28,169 ft) above the sea level.
