Warner built this £4.5m cinema complex on the site of a WWII bombed rail goods depot in 1989. It was fun, but did not thrive. In 2004 it closed and was sold to Northumbria University (Newcastle Polytechnic). The site has been cleared and this smart structure is no more.
The building, although rectangular in plan, was ofset by 45 degrees from the surrounding alignment. This made for a more interesting and ambiguous frontage.
