I'm so often fascinated with spaces... I shoot for a client quite a bit on an island not too far from my home. In order to get there, one must walk across a rather large bridge, considering it's mainly for pedestrians...

One day I happened to walk around and have a look beneath the space I normally occupy and was pleased to find not only a photo worthy space, but one which had an effect upon me. Underneath this huge concrete and steel structure were the painted hand prints of a family of four... including their toddler age daughter.

The messages next to the prints were directed to the lives lost on September 11th and how they'd never be forgotten... so emotional... so honest... such a moment "captured" ... in this hidden time capsule.

I think these spaces are all around us... This tunnel is travelled through by thousands and thousands of motorists and pedestrians every day, yet none of those people ever really think of that tunnel as a space greater than 11 seconds of their lives...

Here's my portrait of that tunnel and a monument to the moments it has captured...
