Many families in Gwinnett County and throughout our nation have been affected in some way by recent military operations around the world. Over the years, a number of Gwinnett County Government employees have been called to active duty, both stateside and abroad. Thankfully, some have returned while others are still serving.

As a small token of their appreciation, the Board of Commissioners and Department of Human Resources would like to recognize each of our “Returning American Heroes” and present them with a plaque. At this time, would the following American heroes who are here today please join Chairman Nash and Human Resources Director Sheryl Dallas at the front of the room to be recognized:

•Army National Guard Sergeant First Class Patrick Crown from our Police Department

•Air Force Senior Airman Tanisha Pressley from our Department of Community Services

•Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Caitlin Taylor from our Department of Fire and Emergency Services

As we look forward to spending the holidays with our families, please take time to remember and thank those who are protecting our national security and interests both at home and abroad.
