Dog stinkhorn (Mutinus caninus)

Growing in the mulch by the porch. This is definitely the weirdest thing I've found growing in my yard. The greenish slime is spores, and the thing smells really bad.

 

Named for its resemblance to a dog's penis, as if that needed explanation.
