Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
1071 Fifth Ave at 89th St
New York City

The Guggenheim participated in the 34th annual Museum Mile festival. Festival attendees walked the Mile between 82nd Street and 105th Street to visit nine of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which were open free to the public throughout the evening, as well as to 110th Street, the site of Museum Mile's newest museum, the Museum for African Art. Outdoor family activities at the Guggenheim included shape and nature motif hunts that investigated the architecture of the building, chalk drawing, and a musical performance by experimental rock/soul band People's Champs.
