Stranger #237 - Ella
Ella was patiently waiting for her lunch to be ready in a small café when I noticed her from the street as I cruised past. So I quickly did a u-turn entered the shop and made my approach.
As it happened, her food was ready just as she agreed and we moved outside to the dark blue tiled wall that I have used before as a background.
We chatted for a while about her work and her travels, especially how she had spent the past 6 years living in Holland. Now living back in Oz, she is busy with 2 jobs; one in a night club and the other in a Day Spa.
Ella was very helpful by holding the reflector to add a bit more gold light into her electric blue eyes and honey coloured hair. Being very relaxed in front of the camera made it easy and fun to get the shot I wanted. My only regret was that I failed to notice her hand bag strap until the last 3 shots. The portrait I’ve posted here was the second shot and although it shows the rope strap of her bag, it’s definitely the best of all the frames as it has a bit of movement in her hair and her confident, focused expression.
We quickly scanned the shots and agreed that there were some good ones in there. Keen to get back to work I handed her a card, thanked her for her time.
