Luez Theatre

This old movie theatre is on the court square in a small town in Tennessee. According to timelesstribute.net: "The Luez Theater has been an entertainment focal point of this county since the week of February 6, 1936. Named for owner Louise Mask, the Luez was typical of many movie houses in the early 20th Century. News Reels, Our Gang comedy shorts, and COLOR CARTOONS played before showing current Hollywood films... Amazingly, this historic building is still being used for the latest releases, including Harry Potter movies and other great family fare."

This is a remarkable old landmark. I wish more old theaters were still in use and restored to their original glory. They have the best atmosphere!

I love these old theaters and gas stations and such. I always want to pull over and shoot them when I see one on a trip. It won't be long till they have all disappeared.

How much of the original interior is still intact? Been wanting to check this little gem out. Good to know it is still in operation.

Jack, I've never been inside the Luez Theatre so I can't give any more information on it. I can tell you that the Fair Theatre on the square in Somerville has been renovated. I plan to attend an event there in December. I'll take photos and report!
