Country Mailbox

I found this mailbox in front of a vast field of white flowers while motorcycling through the country in West Tennessee. The mailbox is relatively new, placed carefully on a weathered board across a rusted-out barrel with the clever backrest. Funny!

What a homey feel this photo has! Great shot. That is a cute setup for the mailbox!

Wonderful composition, good eye Gail, the field of white flowers are beautiful. Isn't nature wonderful? I wonder who gets their mail there, It really adds a rustic touch to the photo. This needs to be put on a postcard with the saying, "Waiting To Hear From You."

Back in Indiana when I was a kid, yeah when dinosaurs roamed the earth :P ...everybody had one of those rusty barrels in their back yard to BURN trash in! Oh such environmental horror! :O Heh. My parents live in southern Indiana now & still burn their trash in one of those. tsk

Nice shot Gail. Very rural & quaint. :)

Everyone, thanks for the visit and comments.
Franny, I live like this, too. Kat, I hate to admit that we still have the barrel for trash burning! However, we only burn trash that we don't want to deposit in the dump. For example, when I disposed of my mother's old bills, bank records and medical records which filled two file cabinets!

Glad to know this brought some neat memories.
