A lesson in Patience
This is a beautiful HDR/Composite of a GO train zooming off into the distance... except, as you can clearly see, there is no train.
I thought I had done it perfectly... we got to the spot plenty early, and I scouted out the good locations. We watched the early train go by, and I decided that the front headlights were too bright, so the best shot would be from the rear with a tiny bit of motion blur.
When the second train's time was approaching, I got the composition I wanted setup and shot these HDR photos to be the sky and background. Now all I had to do was wait for the train to show up and get one good frame of it.
7:10 is it's departure time from Kitchener station, which is just a few seconds up the track. 7 o'clock comes and still no sign of the train at the station. 7:05... 7:10, still no sign of it. 7:15... 7:20.... forget it! the train must be cancelled.
So I put away my tripod and packed up... but before I leave, the train appears, loads and goes roaring by... oh well.
Lesson learned (again). You've already put 2 hours into this photo (including the breakfast between trains)... Give it all the time it needs to come together!
