Fireplace Jones

    Newer Older

Jones loves hanging out in front of a warm fire.

His favorite three things, in order, are:

    1. Going for a walk.
    2. Rides to anywhere.
    3. Fireplaces, active.

After that, he loves: watching squirrels, chasing said squirrels, the vet's office (they adore him up there), his brother Riley the Cat (when Riley isn't biting his face), lying in the sun on a warm (not hot) afternoon, meeting other dogs, dropped people food, tug of war and licking.

He hates: baths, ear drops, delivery men, itchy skin, swimming, going potty in the rain (seeing a water phobia here?) and being alone.

So, that would make Chris his number zero thing.

Oh, so I'm just some thing to you people now? A trinket to be jangled in your pocket for a season only to be discarded with the receipts and candy wrappers from your pockets upon the nightstand of your life? Is that how it is?

      Actually, you're probably right.

Cute. Shooting Dalmatians can sometime be tricky with the dark and light spots. You did a nice job.

i just came across this in Explore! So awesome. that dog has the whole "life" thing down to a tee!

Sunsurfer: Thanks! The hardest part of shooting Jones is when I want to get him and his brother Riley the solid black cat in the same picture. In fact, I don't have a single great photo of them together.

id10t: Nah, Lazy Jones, grumpy dad.

SB: Oh, he's got it made, no doubt! He hogs the covers, though.

Beautiful Dal! I've got one myself, and I know how awesome they are! Great picture too, you really captured his mood.

Hey, Diluted... how about some pics of your dal? I couldn't find any in your photo stream. You're right, they are great dogs. I think most of the problems people have is from not spending enough time with them.

Jones is a fantastic, well behaved dog. Unlike many dalmatians I've seen, he is eager to please and can manage to be still when the situation calls for it. He does, however, spend around 14 hours every day in my presence, and when I worked from home, it was even more.

Dals are extremely sensitive and social animals. If someone wants a good one, they can't bring him home and lock him in a fenced back yard and expect to have a mentally sound pet. I imagine that's true for most dog breeds, but especially so for our dear spotted friends.

I've heard they are a jittery breed...but I also know that dogs take on the energy and personality of their owners.....

Do you not like to pee in the rain? ;-)

Steffer: Dals are known as hyperactive dogs, but Jones is a sweetheart who is content to spend a lazy saturday afternoon curled up with a good book, so yeah, I guess he did take some of my personality. Unlike Jones, though, I don't mind the outdoor tinkle in the sprinkle so bad.
