Honestly, John, I find the pic from the 4S looks a little better than the Ricoh. The shot from the Ricoh looks overexposed and the detail is a tad washed out.

I would say the 4S photo is the most natural. But where is the sky? Or is it simply not poissible to capture the sky properly from that position with cheap cameras at all? What would you say?

Agree with spuy -- the Ricoh shot has a luminous quality that I appreciate, but it looks like something you'd get after applying an Instagram filter. The 4S captures a tremendous amount of detail.

Huh, really good resolution and detail.

That's impressive. A touch of chromatic aberration on the poles against the sky, but much better than most P&S cameras.

This is a problem with even the most expensive cameras out there. The sky is just too bright. So you could choose, nice sky and dark buildings, or nice buildings and white sky. However, there is an HDR function in the iPhone 4 and 4S which combines both, you should try it. Unfortunately I can't test it, for some strange reason (?) they left out the HDR function in the iPod touch
