Rolleicord III

Introduced in 1950, the Rolleicord III could be said to be the first of the modern Rolleicords. The coated Schnieder Krueznach Xenar lens, first used on the late series Rolleicord II, became the standard lens, flash X synch was added, and the viewfinder was improved with automatic parallax correction. Gone was the red window for film loading, as the counter would automatically set to one when loading. It is still easy to find one of these in good user condition, when asked which camera would be a good introduction to TLR photography, the Rolleicord III is my usual answer.
