Gachala emerald

In the Geology, Gems, & Minerals hall, the museum set up an uncut and unpolished emerald named the "Gachala emerald" and illuminated it from underneath. This was set up next to the Mackay Emerald necklace to compare the two stones.

EDIT: my pic of the Gachala emerald was featured in an article (in Japanese) on various gemstones.


UPDATE: This Gachala emerald photo was used in a Russian article about a man trying to smuggle a 482.3 carat uncut emerald over the Georgia border.
