This is Tallulah, "Lu Lu". Shes been with us since right around New Years 2008. When we saw her at one of our events (Racing Home Greyhound Adoption), we knew instantly she would come home with us!
She was left to die and was near death when the Human Society called Jody Brown of Racing Home and Jody came to her rescue immediately. They were going to have to put her down as she was clinging to life. After surgery to remove her traumatized eye and a lot of care, she was ready for a home.
She must have been running loose and alone her whole life as the pads on her feet showed much damage and she was never registered or tatooed.
Jody indicated that the people at the shelter said she probably got hit by a car which caused the damage to her eye. When Jody first saw her she was extremely under weight, basically skin and bones and was covered in feces. When she was being taken from the shelter to the vet she was given some dry food in the van and literally ate out of a large bag for 30 minutes.
We dont know how she survived for the first two years of her life, but we are blessed to have her in our home.
She is very shy, but extremely loving, playful and smiles constantly. She is a joy in our lives. Thanks for letting me share with you!!
