Fungi - Fruiting Structures

Autumn is a time where fungi are casting their spores to the wind. The actual fungi is rarely seen usually living it's life inside the host or underground. Some fungi are seen as the largest life forms on the planet covering many square kilometres. The part you can see is the fruiting structure that emerges to spread the spores. This image actually reminds me of the dancing toadstools in the Disney animation "Fantasia".
