western conifer seed bug

I found a bug. It was a big, interesting-looking one, so I put it in a glass baking dish (it was the nearest good background), threw on an extension tube for macro, and took a few shots of it.

Thank you to the Wikipedia Reference Desk and to Prof. Carl Schaefer of the University of Connecticut for identifying this as a western conifer seed bug, Leptoglossus occidentalis. It's now on the Wikimedia Commons.
