Gemma Polaroid

Since I had all the stuff set up from doing a self portrait yesterday I figured it would be easy to plunk Gemma down in front of the big camera and get something nice. The off centre framing wasn't planned, but I am OK with it.

Shot with Three strobes ganged together behind an umbrella to the right, and a single strobe with a diffuser to the left. This is large format so I needed a lot a strobes to get enough light.

This made a magnificent print as an 8x10 glossy on 11x13 paper!

Kids are always on the move. The off-center just captures her in action. Nice shot!

I second the comment above - the framing is actually nice

Beautiful shot!! How on earth do you do that with an old wooden camera? I would need the latest auto focus Nikon with flash bang if I were to photograph my niece. ;-)

It was 50% preparation and 50% luck. The camera was prefocused and she was so interested in what was going on she didn't move from the spot where I had put her down until after the flash went off. When I tried the same shot with my son later in the day I just ended up wasting film.
