Enzo Mari x Ikea mashup
I decided to make an EFFE table, designed by Enzo Mari in 1973-4 as part of his autoprogettazione series. Mari's idea was to counter the industrial-scale consumerist furniture industry by providing furniture designs that anyone could make for himself, using 1-in. pine boards from the corner hardware store.

Well, it's 2009, and the pine lumber at my corner Home Depot comes from New Zealand, so I decided to just run with it.

I used the unfinished pine components from Ikea's IVAR shelving system as lumber. I have adapted the dimensions and some details from Mari's original design, to account for different wood specs and to improve the table's stability.
