All that shimmers is not always gold...
...in fact, sometimes it is blue and grey. The early morning light at the refuge does this magical little dance at the Gull Pond that makes everything in it and around it take on this mystical, magical property that can't be replicated at any other time of the day. I found this Great Blue Heron fishing on the opposite side of the pond and the foliage around his provided a nice reflection on the still, black water he was wading in.
From my Friday 7-3-2009 trip to the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Oceanville, NJ.
