Taken at Lucia Falls north of Vancouver, WA. The steelhead were working their way up the east fork of the Lewis River to spawn and were having a heck of a time trying to get up over the falls.
I had a heck of a time trying to capture their jumps. This isn't the greatest shot, but it's better then the rest of the 100 shots or so I took. I focused about where they were jumping and stood there waiting while not looking through the the viewfinder. When I saw a fish jump, I hit the shutter. Most of the shots were of the fish falling back down the falls, but I got a couple of them going up.
The fall run is about done, but they are starting to head up stream for the winter run. I'm going to have to head back with my new 7D when there is some more light and see if I can get a better shot.
