Basecamp in the Altai

It has been a little while since my last post! For good reason however; I've been in Russia for a few weeks photographing a climbing expedition to the Altai Mountains in Siberia. The area is mostly unvisited by Westerners and there is barely any information written in English, so the plan was to explore and write up our findings (and post plenty of photos of course). See lots more info here: thealtai.co.uk

The first of many photos is from our basecamp, situated in a valley in the South Chuysky range. We were lucky to have no moon and a clear view of the Milky Way on most nights. Look carefully and you can see a satellite in the top left portion of the shot.

Goes without saying that this should be viewed large & on black (L).
