Oil Mires Down Grasses in Gulf

Heavy crude oil from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead has penetrated the wetland grasses on an island in Bay Batiste, Louisiana June 16, 2010. The grass will die as a result and erosion of the low lying island will be accelerated. The BP leased Deepwater Horizon oil platform exploded April 20 and sank after burning, leaking record amounts of crude oil from the broken pipeline into the sea. Photo © Kate Davison/Greenpeace
