After a few beers we decided to head for a trip to the Whitelee Wind Farm; the largest in Europe apparently. It's something we'd spoken about for ages but never actually gotten round to doing.

After some changeable weather, and when we were a bit into the middle of the whole thing, the heavens opened and we got pelted with hailstones the size of large grapes.

I felt like the guy in 127 hours. Trapped in that god forsaken weather, being smashed with millions of 'frozen bullets'.

It was so bad that we had to walk backwards to get back to the car.

Really love this picture. It really conveys the sort of lonely, haunted feel I experienced being at the wind farm recently (also in sh*tey weather).

Windmills (and pylons) are a lovely landscape feature, never been up close and personal to a windmill though.

      Does the hassy come weatherproofed?

vukr ahem... It does not. The Canon thing I had with me as well got some serious abuse though. The Blad just got minor abuse that day.

Seen on my Flickr home page. (?)
