Colors of The Siq
Photographed at Petra in The Hashemite Kingdon of Jordan.....one of the ancient Wonders of the World.
The grand caravan entrance to the ancient city of Petra is through a dim narrow narrow gorge called the "Siq" (al-Siq in Arabic meaning "the shaft"). Walking through this amazing course, traveled by thousands of tourists each day, is an experience I will never forget. The colors and formations of the rocks are dazzling. Along the edges of the Siq, as seen in this photograph, are some underground chambers. Archaeologists now believe that they once housed guards that defended this approximately one-mile entranceway to Petra.
This photograph was taken with a Nikon D70 Digital SLR and enhanced using Photoshop CS3 and Topaz Adjust.
