Homecoming Scotland Fireworks Edinburgh - Explored

Hiked up Calton Hill tonight in the cold and I mean cold as is minus temperatures to get the fireworks on the Castle to mark the end of the Homecoming Scotland celebrations. Just a short display so had to get it right quickly!

Many issues tonight though, firstly the smoke from the fireworks obscured the Castle pretty quickly so it was pointless trying to get the Castle in the shot, hence why I went for the edge of the Castle and Princes Street instead. Secondly, the Obelisx which was in front of me from my vantage point at the foot of the Nelson Monument really started to bug me in the shot. It wasn't that obtrusive in the test shots but was a pain in the butt on the fireworks shots as the light inbetween it and the castle lit up the smoke making it stand out, its just out the left of this shot.

But, happy enough, few more to come and thawed out now, just.

As with all fireworks shots, big on black is much better!
